  • Because some Messages features are school-specific, Seesaw Basic (free) users do not have access to all features. Free users have access to:

    • Teacher-initiated announcements to students and connected family members

    • Teacher-initiated 1:1 and group conversations with connected family members

    • Option to allow connected family members to start conversations with you, the teacher. Turning on this setting allows families to privately reply to Announcements. How to turn on the setting: In Class Settings under Families, click ‘Family messaging’ and turn ON ‘Families can start new conversations with teachers’.

The following features are only available for Seesaw for Schools users, as they require school-level approval by an administrator which is only available for schoolwide subscriptions. The Seesaw Basic version of Messages does NOT include:

    • Teacher-student 1:1 and group messaging

    • Teacher-initiated student-student messaging

    • Messaging other classes or groups within the school

    • Schoolwide settings

    • Whole school announcements

    • Admin visibility into messages sent within the school

  • The Class app will be automatically updated in mid-July to have all of the new features. Families using the Family app need to download the new Seesaw app. Search the Apple App Store or Google Play Store for “Seesaw”.

  • Seesaw Lessons are designed by a team of seasoned educators with curriculum design expertise. Content is standards-aligned and engaging for students. Every Lesson supports gradual release, empowers deep thinking, and unleashes creativity with multimodal tools. Lessons are designed with teacher ease of use in mind – each lesson component is labeled with an estimated duration that allows teachers to plan accordingly and allows the flexibility to implement over multiple days. Lessons can be used as a standalone resource or supplement an existing curriculum.

Activities from the Community Library are designed by our Seesaw Ambassadors, a group of educators who are Seesaw experts at their school. These short activities are meant to plug into and supplement your existing lesson plans.

  • Seesaw Lessons are available to purchase by schools or districts. Our team would be happy to give you a demo or more information about purchasing Seesaw Lessons. If a school or district is interested in learning more about purchasing Seesaw Lessons, they can fill out this form and our team will get in touch right away.
